What’s Happening
Child Dedication
Foothills is planning a Child Dedication on May 10 and 11. If you are interested in dedicating your child/children, contact Wendy Lopp before May 4 at the church office, ext. 104.
Graduating Seniors
If you have a graduating senior this year, please send us his or her photograph to include in a slideshow that will run during a service in May.
E-mail a photo to Rick Frye, or bring it to the office (it will be returned). Please also indicate your student’s name as you would like it to be displayed.
Nehemiah Series
Starting the weekend of May 17 & 18, Pastor Steve will begin a seven-week teaching series on the book of Nehemiah. This Old Testament book offers insights about leadership and faithfulness, vision and focus, calling and commitment. If you would like to personally go deeper into the book of Nehemiah, Foothills will also offer a seven-week, multi-generational, multi-gender Bible study on Sunday mornings. We will start May 18 during the 10:30 a.m. service in the Fitness Center. Please contact Susie June at the church office for more information.
Ministry Highlights
Foothills Men
We are starting a ministry that reaches out to single moms and the elderly in our community. Once a month, men from FCC will go out in groups of four and provide basic help to single moms, widows, and the elderly in our church and community. If you are interested in learning more, email Rich.
Softball Team
Foothills has a softball team playing in the Westminster Recreation league. The team is in need of 3–4 more players. Games are on Tuesday evenings and start this week. The cost is $50. If you are interested, please contact Bob Herrington at 303-591-2044.
Stephen Ministry
We are looking to train men and women to become Stephen Ministers. You would be trained to help provide Christian care to members of our congregation and community. This training will equip you to bring Christ’s healing love to people who are grieving, in crisis, or experiencing other stresses in life. For more information, contact Susie June at the church office.
Serving Opportunities
Bibles 4 Hope
We are collecting new or gently used Bibles to donate to people who need some guidance from God. You may give all different kinds of Bibles, and money if you would like. You will be blessed greatly for doing something to help others in the name of God. Bibles 4 Hope is sponsored by our 6th grade youth group.
Growing Home
We are looking for volunteers to help homeless families in need through Growing Home, May 18–25. Please stop by the sign-up table in the lobby or call Gretchen at 303-431-2170.
Support Our Missions
Can’t go on a mission trip this summer? You can still be a part of the team by praying and supporting those who are going. Below are several ways you can get involved:
King Soopers Certificates
Each week you can buy King Soopers Certificates, with 5% from every card you buy going toward missions.
Lunch Money Books
The Thailand team is selling Lunch Money Books containing two-for-one coupons to local restaurants, including Subway, Cici’s, Bennigan’s, Old Neighborhood Restaurant, and more. Books are $10 each, $8 of which goes to our mission team.
Treasure Sale
May 15–17, the Thailand team is hosting a Treasure Sale (one man’s junk is another man’s treasure) in the Foothills parking lot. If you have treasures to donate, drop them off May 3 or 10 from 9 a.m.–noon at Foothills, or anytime on May 15. And be sure to stop by to see if there are treasures you’d like to buy.
Kenya Mission Trip
We are seeking volunteers for a Kenya trip departing October 29 and returning November 9. We need volunteers to work with Nursery School children, construction (digging and pouring a foundation for a nursery school), and a women’s conference that focuses on counseling, conflict resolution, women’s health issues, and spiritual gifts. If you are interested or need more information, please contact Brenda Kaker at 720-350-8713.
Prayer Chain
God tells us to ask and we shall receive, and sets an example through Jesus Christ for prayer. If you are feeling called to be a partner in prayer and would like information on our Foothills prayer chain, please contact Linda Richter at the church office.
